A Year Later, Doubts Mount Over Irondequoit’s Political Firestorm Against Supervisor Evans

The other side of the story now that the DA’s review is done

One year ago, Irondequoit convulsed with scandal. Its Supervisor, Lt. Col. Andraé J. Evans,  a retired U.S. Army officer decorated with two Bronze Stars and the town’s first Black chief executive,  was accused of misconduct by a staff member.

The Town Board moved hard and fast: a censure resolution, unprecedented limits on the Supervisor’s day-to-day powers, and a January 14, 2025 letter demanding Evans’s resignation.

Twelve months on, the evidentiary ground looks very different. Today, new evidence, interviews, and public filings suggest the opposite conclusion: Evans was not a rogue Supervisor, but the target of a politically orchestrated hit job, driven by rivals, rubber-stamped by a flawed investigation, and executed through processes that broke both the spirit and the letter of New York law. Despite these events, Supervisor Evans continues in the Supervisor role. Working for the people of Irondequoit every day. When voting, please  WRITE-IN Andrae Evans.
